HEART's ANN WILSON To Pay Tribute To DAVID BOWIE, TOM PETTY, CHRIS CORNELL On 'Project Dead Guys' Album
January 11, 2018HEART singer Ann Wilson is working on a tribute album to "artists who have departed in the last several years," including David Bowie, Tom Petty and Chris Cornell.
Wilson is collaborating with longtime HEART producer Mike Flicker on the LP, which has the working title of "PDG" ("Project Dead Guys").
"It's a project very dear to me — a collection of songs by artists who have departed in the last several years: Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Tom Petty and Chris Cornell, to name a few," she said in a statement. "To honor these great artists is my deepest pleasure, and Mike Flicker is working with me on this new record. It is thrilling work and I can't wait for you to hear what we are doing."
In the meantime, Ann will continue to tour billed as "ANN WILSON OF HEART", with new dates starting on January 12.
"We're excited to be back, performing intimate shows for y'all," she said. "We hope you can join us for this unique experience again this year."
Ann and her sister, HEART guitarist Nancy Wilson, have been estranged since August 2016 when Ann's husband, Dean Wetter, whom she married in 2015, lost his temper and assaulted Nancy's 16-year-old twin sons during a HEART concert in Washington. Wetter pleaded guilty to two non-felony assault charges and was placed on two years unsupervised probation.
